Case: A shipment of 3.700 belts, 2.400 sweatshirts and 7.000 scarves from China were detained by SKAT
A shipment of 3.700 belts, 2.400 sweatshirts and 7.000 scarves from China were detained by SKAT as they were suspected to be counterfeited.
SKAT took contact to the rights holders of the real goods, who confirmed that it was counterfeited goods.
The company who had imported the counterfeited belts, sweatshirts and scarves, would not make a settlement with the rights holder and the case was brought to the Maritime and Commercial Court.
On 16 July 2008 the company was sentenced to pay damages and legal costs etc. to a total of 1.408.870 Dkr. to the rights holders.
The counterfeited belts, sweatshirts and scarves were then destroyed by SKAT.
