The Danish Medicines Agency has carried out spot check laboratory analysis of medicinal products from the legal supply chain. The selection of samples consisted of erective disorder medicinal products. The analysis did not disclose any counterfeit medicinal products. Furthermore in conjunction with other agencies and organizations, the Danish Medicines Agency have set up a network to combat counterfeit medicinal products, which - among other initiatives – has produced a guide to prevent counterfeit medicinal products from entering the legal supply chain. Following an amendment to the Danish Medicines Act, pharmaceutical companies are from the summer of 2008 obliged to report any findings of counterfeit medicinal products to The Danish Medicines Agency. The Danish Medicines Agency also focuses on the sale of illegal medicinal products via the Internet.
