What should consumers be aware of when buying medicinal products from locations other than the pharmacy?
If you buy medicinal products from other places than a pharmacy or an authorized retailer, you should pay special attention to several things: It is not allowed to import medicinal products to Denmark from countries outside EU / EEA, and therefore you should always make sure where the seller is established. In many cases, the seller ships the medicinal products from countries outside EU / EEA, even though this is not immediately apparent from the seller’s website. You should also be aware that it can be dangerous to use medicinal products which have been bought outside the legal supply chain, because these medicinal products may not have been produced in accordance with the requirements and therefore will not have the intended effect or the right content of the active pharmaceutical ingredient. Furthermore, it is very important to be aware of the fact that the medicinal products can have side effects or affect the efficiency of other medicinal products you may be taking.
